Eats for the Last Few Days...

Tonight while shopping at Whole Foods I had an opportunity to put my latest research to good use. I was in the baking supplies aisle purchasing Organic Zero. The young girl standing next to me picked up a package of Stevia and showed it to her friend. In passing I told her that she may want to reconsider purchasing the package of Stevia before doing her research on the product. She then asked me what I knew about it and I was able to tell her about the research that I had done on Truvia and Stevia. She decided to purchase the Organic Zero.

I have been ravenous since I started Stage 5 of NROL4W. I think that it is from the HEAVY weights that I am lifting (I complete 4 reps of each exercise, 3-4 sets). I have been limited on time to complete the weight lifting sessions, so I have been doing them as a circuit without rest in between alternating exercises and only 30 seconds between sets.

Here are my eats for the last couple days:

Monday
M1 - 1/2 c egg whites, 1 chicken sausage, 1 slice raisin ezekiel bread
M2 - 1 c nf plain yogurt + strawberries
M3 - 1/3 c porridge + apple + 1 tbsp peanut butter
M4 - vita-mix: spinach, strawberries, orange + 1 tbsp peanut butter + 1/2 c nf plain yogurt
M5 - 1/2 ezekiel wrap + 1/2 serving chicken + 1/2 serving black beans
M6 -  banana + 1/2 ezekiel wrap + 1 tbsp peanut butter

Tuesday
M1 - 1/2 c egg whites, 1 chicken sausage, 1 slice raisin ezekiel bread
M2 - 1 c nf plain yogurt + blackberries
M3 - 1/3 c porridge + pumpkin + apple + 1 tbsp peanut butter
M6 -  vita-mix: spinach + strawberries + blackberries + 1 tbsp peanut butter + 1/2 c nf plain yogurt

Wednesday
M1 - 1/2 c egg whites, 1 chicken sausage, 1 slice raisin ezekiel bread
M2 - 1 cup yogurt cheese + blackberries
M5 - vita-mix: spinach + strawberries + orange + 1 tbsp peanut butter + 1/2 c nf plain yogurt

Enjoy reading your blog. It is a great help for those of us that are new to "Clean Eating". I have a couple of questions. 1. What is NROL4W? 2. How was your frittata as a leftover? Where you listed Vita-Mix was that a shake w/one of those brand name blenders? As to stevia I too have heard pros and cons. The biggest con being sterility in men. What makes organic zero such a pro? Can you use it in your baking? Do you use is 1 for 1 in a recipe?

Hey there! Here are the answers to your questions:

1. NROL4W is New Rules of Lifting for Women - it is a book that I use with advice on fitness and loosing fat and in the back of the book it has workout routines and descriptions of each workout. I really love this book and have several friends that use it, too.

2. The Frittata was delicious as leftovers!!! I had it cold and microwaved and both ways were delicious.

3. Yes, I use a Vita-Mix "Blender" in many of my recipes. I love my Vita-Mix and it makes everything easier!

4. Organic Zero is organic sugar that has been fermented using an organic fermenting agent. The fermented sugar is then dried. Organic Zero is actually erythritol, a sugar alcohol. You can read more about erythritol in my Truvia post. Erythritol is 70% as sweet at sugar and can be used 1:1 for sugar. I use the Organic Zero brand over other Erythritol brands because it is USDA Certified Organic.

Please let me know if you have any other questions!

Thank you for taking time to answer my questions especially when you had a busy night ahead of you and your dh. I saw your pic post and can't believe that was you!!! Wow what an amazing transformation! What has helped you most to be so consistent w/the clean eating? I was wondering if you have any info pertaining to the shapedbyfaith.com pilates program? I look fwd to your blogs/recipes daily. I also know from your blogs you sing for the church choir ~ if you ever get a chance you should stop by St Nicks in Atlantic City. The Monsg is a fantastic singer and they are working on starting up a childrens choir. The Church alone is beautiful old Italian design.

The church sounds beautiful - I will have to check it out some time!

I think that what has really helped with sticking to Clean Eating is organization. I am very organized by nature and have found that keeping myself prepared for the week ahead is essential. Also, I try to keep myself from ever feeling famished... that is when I am the most tempted. Although, all of the food in my house is clean... but it is still possible to eat too much clean food!
